As you know from my very long ago post in July, we sold our house and had just a short time to pack up and move.  And of course, Hubby had his annual trip planned to Mayo in there, so I was left to move it all to the new digs.  I'm not complaining, mind you, but it WAS difficult. Non-stop moving, up and down stairs, and the HEAT!  Oh my, the HEAT!  But all the moving in is over, and now the putting away continues.

This is the first picture (late at night) with the first round of fabric.  Those are almost all 58 quart tubs, and the way I figure it, I have about 1,856 quarts of fabric there.  
 
The POD is now about 3/4 full and I think I have just another day's worth of sorting and packing.  Then I'll do it all in reverse. Well, they were, and now, I have a really bad case of the  "I want".  The back story to this is my David Taylor workshop from last year.  Remember that?  That is when I learned how to do pictorial applique, and I began the one of my dog, Mayo.

The last couple of days have surprised us all, and I've even had the windows open!  It rained a bit last night, and I see sprouts of green in the grass, even!  So it won't be long, I think.
 
I've passed off my Round Robin starter block, and now I have my round sitting patiently on the design wall for ideas. Today is the big day for football lovers.  Me?  Not so much, but it's nice to spend it with hubby:  he watches the game and I sew and watch the commercials.  Our chili was made yesterday and is heating up nicely for dinner later tonight.  This afternoon, we'll take in a bit of culture by attending a Mozart and Smetna symphony as a belated birthday present for Hubby.

Yes, I know, I know! I've been back from Michigan almost an entire week and I haven't posted anything yet. I have never been to the Missouri State Fair. Since I'm living in Missouri now, and the guild I belong to is in Missouri, it's only right that I go.  So I did! Bonnie has come and gone, and now I am recovering from the hectic pace keeping up with her.  She arrived Sunday mid-morning, and we visited, had BBQ ribs and wine and watched the first episode of Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren.

Yesterday was the Amazing Quilt Babes last "official" birthday stitch day.  We helped Carol get this beauty together, and isn't it great in it's simplicity?  Even though this is the last of the 2010 birthday quilts, it doesn't mean we won't be stitching more!  We even had time to stitch some more blocks for our 2 charity quilts.

What a hoot!  I think it is in India or Pakistan, but there was no language on the site at all, so we are left to ponder it's origins.  It was part of a community art project, I can tell you that.  There were knitted sweaters for the trees, and for the parking meters, but the bus is what I truly enjoyed.

I went to the Fabri-Quilt Warehouse last week to choose fabric for aprons.  Aprons, you ask?  My quilt guild is making aprons for the Boutique for the fall Quilt show, and I decided to have new, fresh fabric for them, rather than using things from my Resource Center.  Of course, I needed to purchase it in bulk, and I only had a certain amount for the apron budget. This is the Kaw Valley Quilter's Guild Show in Lawrence Kansas that was held last Saturday and Sunday. Their venue is at the Douglas County, Kansas fairgrounds, and it's nicely lit and quite a lot of space. They held it in a local mall (inside) in a vacant store, and while the venue was very nice with it's bright lights and space, it was difficult to find because of the lack of signage outside.  But, my friends and I persevered and find it we did.  It was a nice show, and the boutique was nicely organized. Whenever we are near the treadmill, she hops on and barks until I turn it on for her.  She is doing about 2 miles each day now at 3 mph. This will come in handy with the bad weather just around the corner, eh?OK - I have an excuse!  I am still recovering from pneumonia, then bronchitis, then a bad case of the blues. She moved them from Beaver Island to White Birch Lodge in Elk Rapids, MI (about 18 miles south of Charlevoix) about 7 years ago.  The ferry takes too long, and the flights had gotten too expensive for the participants, so the move was made. They are waiting for me to get over my anger at inept math calculations to get that last big row of blocks off.  Unfortunately, I will NOT be using them for a table runner, nor can I leave the quilt at the size it is at the moment. It's such a long drive there, but the city is so welcoming and easy to get around in, and of course, the Mayo Clinic staff are just wonderful - ALL OF THEM! He sees the doctors, gets poked for blood and such and I sew!  Such a deal!
